My Childhood All Over Again

One of the shows that I would make sure to watch whenever it was on, was Full House. Now, I bet you can imagine how excited and skeptical that I was when said that they were going to reboot it into Fuller House. I’ll admit, I wasn’t so sure that the cheese of the original show and the heart-wrenching family moments would still be there, but let me tell you, it is on point. I don’t care if it is nostalgia getting to me, I’m having fun with this show. I recently finished the fourth season. It’s been an absolute trip with plot twists nearly everywhere. I wish I could tell you anything, but it feels like it will be spoilers. A bunch of my favorite characters came back and brought new adorable characters along for the ride. If you are able to, I would just set aside a weekend, probably a long one, and just finish the entire show in one go. I heard a rumor that there is only one more season left. I’m a bit mixed by this. The show is so good, and I want it to continue. On the other hand, I don’t want it to continue to the point where it’s stupid and a total waste of time. I’m sure that so many fandoms are worried about this, and I know that I have felt that way about shows that I loved before. I’m just crossing my fingers that it stays good. *knocking on wood*

Sparking Joy in your Home

The latest line of shows that I’ve been watching on Netflix was Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. I figured that keeping your life in order was a way of loving yourself. And I can say with absolute certainty, that this show absolutely changed me. I’ll admit that I am a little bit of a hoarder, but what Marie was saying just got to me in a way that no one has before. She’s just this inspiration tiny woman with so much love in her heart. After watching her work in real life, I want to read her book. I’ll probably get even more tips from the woman in my college student price range. After reading that, or while maybe, I will go through my own tidying up session. I try, and it won’t really stick. I’m hoping that it will stick this time. I do want to move more into a minimalist life style, and I feel that this will be a great start, because I honestly have to much stuff for the space that I have to occupy. It might either be difficult to do in the mist of all of my studying, or it could be the very thing that I need to get my life somewhat on tract. We’ll just have to wait and see, I suppose.

Rescue all the Puppies

One of my favorite genre of mobile games is something that I like to call Soap Opera Games. These are simple games, mostly pressing different things on the screen, and for some reason, they have the most outrageous plot lines, a complete contrast to the gameplay. This time, I played the wonderful Dr. Cares: Pet Rescue 911. I originally wanted to play this game because of all the cute puppies, I will admit, but then a bought the rest of the game because of the storyline that started to unfold. I didn’t think that a romantic subplot was going to reveal itself, but there it was. I was playing this because of the love of animals, but then cute love interests revealed. It was unexpected, but I was not disappointed. I’ll admit, I was rooting for another love interest over another, but I’ll leave that for you to decide.

You can find this game iOS, Android, KindleFire, and Steam.

Fabulous Inner Self

Following the theme of love, I decided to do one that discusses self-love. Given that information, I decided to talk about Queer Eye, the second version. I have actually binge-watch this series twice. I absolutely love this cast. First and foremost, I love diversity. Having two queer characters of color is amazing. Myself, being a person of color in the community, it feels kind of hard to find characters that I can see as myself. I don’t even care what gender they identify as I saw myself being represented in media. I also love the energy that the dive off of each other. In some shows, the people sometimes go off the deep end with the change, but these guys take it step-by-step. The nominees are still themselves at the end of the episode, they just have a better self-confidence about themselves. Also, because the changes are so simple, yet so meaningful, it’s possible to see that changes being used after the Fab 5 leave. Personally, I would love to see a “Where Are They Now?” episode, so that I can see if the changes were kept up. All of the people are lovely, so I absolutely would not mind seeing them again. This is actually one of the perfect shows to watch anytime. It will make you feel amazing the entire time. You might need to dab your eyes every now and again, but they’re tears of joy.

Dating Parody

I decided to start this month by watching a comedy all about dating. I especially wanted to watch this because it was written in part by a couple of my favorite writers from College Humor, Emily and Murph. This particular show is Hot Date. I’ve been meaning to watch this for a while when it was announced on YouTube, so I’m happy to have finally gotten around to watching it. The two of them are absolutely hilarious together. It was also hilarious that the majority of the characters are portrayed by the two of them. All of these characters would be a part of the same friend group, but somehow never showed up in the same place at the exact same time. For no reason what so ever, I found that the funniest part of the entire show. I also played a bit on popular culture and “standards” of dating and bringing it into the millennial culture. It’s a short 10 episode series on Netflix so you can make an afternoon out of it. I think the only thing you will regret is not watching this show sooner.

February 2019 Theme

So this month, I’m going to do something a little bit different. I’m going to have a theme. For the month of February, the theme is going to be love, and I mean love of all times. As long as I can relate to love, it will be going up on this blog. Usually, February is reserved for romantic love, but it honestly should more than that. Also, this will be more fun than complaining about being forever alone.
