A Real Creepy Story

After the disappointing watch that was the Lizzie Borden story, I decided to give this collection another go. Apparently, I choose to go with a particularly gruesome story, particularly fitting for the season. This time I watched Monster: The Ed Gein Story. Now, instead of trying to paint someone as a hero, he is portrayed as the creep he was. The secondary story line was also of interest of me as someone who probably thinks way too much about horror. It focused on how after Gein’s murders the subject of horror made a switch: instead of the monsters we’d been used to, there was the change looking at the darker side of humanity, which did get me thinking. This in a way did every much get me in the head space of when I used to watch Criminal Minds, probably because we did get a visit from a special bureau organization. While the main story line was fully fleshed out, there were other bits that could have been done better. There were things that I had to look up in order to see if there was any merit or if the writer’s had things they needed to work out. I’m split; maybe it’s a bit of both; there was a bit of merit and things need to be worked out. Do be on the look out if you’re sensitive to body horror. It’s a bit (or rather a lot) much, even if it is that time of year.
