Update for 2025

So, this is the new year, so of course I have to inform everyone about the new-ish me. Just kidding. Not much new is going on. I hope to be able to post on a regular basis again, especially since I am getting to the end of the degree. Working on my different projects, which include this, is how I de-stress from the stressful day. I also hope to add longer form content. This is something that I have been working on in hopes that I can upload one later this month. Right now, I am hoping that I can release one every other month. First, I’ll have to see if I can keep up with everything. To see how well I’m doing, you can stop by my YouTube channel were I record myself working. So far, it seems to be working in keeping me focused on working during my time. Stop by if you need it as well. Either way, I’ll hopefully see you next week to continue our normally scheduled programming.

What I’m doing now

I figured that with the post; I would do something a little different. It seems that I am always working, either in the lab, writing a paper, or planning thousands of things. Because of that, I have to keep my mind somehow focused. My primary way of doing so is to listen to several podcasts or music. Also, I will give you a hint of a couple of things I am currently doing.

What I am listening too

So, since I am doing several things, having a podcasts to listen to is the perfect way to listen to something while doing something else. I use Spotify, so you can use everything there.

What I am reading

When I am not working, I am reading. At least, I’m trying to get back into reading if you remember my previous post.

  • The Afghanistan Papers: a Secret History of the War by Craig Whitlock

I heard this book was good and I was interested, so I’m reading

  • The Nancy Drew series

For whatever reason, I decided I needed; to read this book series, all 300 books. I don’t know why, I just did. I’m making good progress through.

For a more up-to-date list of the books I’m reading, follow me on Goodreads under Drabble Geek with “DG” as the profile photo. I’ll friend everyone who asks.

What I’m doing

I’m a busy person. First and foremost, I am a Ph.D. student. It’s hard and grueling work sometimes, but it’s what I’ve chosen to do with my life. Secondly, I have a mission to encourage geekiness and nerdiness. Doing what I can to help people do what they want with the resources they have, is essential to me. Anyway, I can help people do that, and I want to. One way is to have this blog that I update as I can. Another way is by opening my services tab. It is still very much a work in progress to get it to the point I want, but check it out. I’ll help everyone I can in a first come, first serve manner. There are also other things that I am working on that are very much a work in progress, but you can also check that out in my “Projects” tab.

I hope everyone is having a great week and a fantastic Pride Month. I’ll hopefully come out with new content next week.

Update: Animal Crossing Pocket Camp

With all of the recent updates that I been released for Animal Crossing, I’ve decided to review the new updates. If you would like to read my previous statements, click here.

Some of the most recent updates included a lot of fun events center around the season. They are really fun to participate in and don’t require too much extra effort. You just have to remember that the event is occurring and to purchase the special items. Another event was a butterfly event that was fun to take place in. Once again, the game practically holds your hand along the way to the event. For this event, you just had to plant seeds that the different animals gave you and catch butterflies that came to feed. The only thing I wished happened was that the catch rate was slightly higher. It felt that the catch rate was way too low at the level of catching I was at.

An overall new update is the crafting of clothing. It’s a nice update considering the fact that there is only a small chance of clothes you may want showing up. One thing I wish was available was that you can choose color options that you want and patterns. I understand in this phase of the development of the app that they may not be able to do that, but I would like that. There is some clothing that is not to my tastes, but I can definitely see them being someone else’s.
