When your co-workers are getting on your nerves, it time to sing some death metal, like Retsuko in Aggressive Retsuko (ONA). This Netflix original show had everything (in my Stephan-voice): cute, fuzzy animals, horrible bosses, and that annoying co-worker that never gets anything done because she is too busy opening a jar. This anime is a take on how you would probably deal with the stress of work if you were an animated red panda. This is based on the original shorts, but in this version, there is an actual plot. (Don’t you just love plot). And this show is decently short at just ten 15-minutes episodes that justs gives death metal some life.

Walking Simulator: The Anime
If you want a borning anime to watch (and I honestly don’t know what you would), there is Kokkoku or Moment by Moment. And by boring, I truly mean boring. The first episode set up the premise pretty well, but after that, it went downhill pretty quickly. For episodes on end, the characters would just be walking around. And having tiny bouts of dialogue, but that would be it. When they would try to world build, it would often be the same person explaining something that they already explained before in the exact same way. Also, their reasoning would be one of the stupidest things ever. Trust me. When the “villain” finally explains why he is doing what he is doing, it is a literal facepalm. The whys and hows just never make any sense.
Greatest Female Thief
I just finished watching the great anime known as Lupin the Third: Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna or Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine. When I watched this, I was told that it was a prequel to the Lupin the Third series, which is good that I didn’t have to watch anything else to understand it. Everything that you need to know is answered within the series, making it a great stand alone. Not only that, but the story was amazing. It kept my attention the entire time. At the end of every episode, I wanted more answers to what was going on. There is just so much mystery going on. Warning, though: it is a very mature anime. Lets’ just say that the protagonist is very comfortable with her body and likes to show it off. There are also some trigger warnings of suicide and abuse towards the end, but it is not very explicit. I feel like I should tell people that. If you can get past that, it is a very enjoyable anime.
Raising a Doll
In the cute little anime known as Gugure! Kokkuri-san, the fox god known as Kokkuri-san helps raise Kohina, a girl who believes that she is a doll. It has an amazing cast of characters that are hilarious and heart-warming at the same time. With a supernatural and slightly creepy twist of a family drama, this family has to get through day-to-day without accidentally ending the world. Maybe not end the world but definitely trying to kill each other. They kinda fail at that one quite a bit. It’s a cute little show for a shounen (It makes sense as to why it’s a shounen after a bit.). Have a mentioned how amazing the characters are by the way. Their interactions with each other are the best.
Happiness Meets Poverty
In the anime Binbougami Ga! or Good Luck Girl, you meet two adversaries. One, a girl who has an overwhelming amount of happiness or good luck energy who also slowly sucks this away from other people, and the other, a poverty god who is just trying to right the scales. It is a funny show with fun characters that everyone would fall in love with. This show is classified as a shounen, so there are some really perverted male characters, but you just have to run with it. The characters are memorable, and watching them grow is truly remarkable. I would suggest this to anyone who whats a good laugh. It is fast-paced action and hardly any filler. I honestly want the second season that they were hinting at the end.
Dress-Up IRL
In the weird world that is anime logic, there is Ai Mai! Moe Can Change! It is apparently based on a video game, and you can honestly tell. It is a single episode of what-is-going-on. It is simple and straight to the point, but it is still almost unintelligible amongst the nonsense. Some people are people; some people are robots. Everything starts when two girls find a phone that can change people’s outfits at will. It’s an interesting thirty minutes of comedy that is definitely for the shoujo loving crowd. It is fast-paced animation, bright colors, and a single magic girl transformation sequence that made my heart squeal. And honestly, it is a thirty-minute show. What do you have to lose?
Female Bounty Hunters
I recently finished the very short anime known as Gunsmith Cats. It was amazing. It was short and sweet. At three episodes long, it is a good way to spend the end of a night. It featured strong female characters who were not afraid to get their hands dirty. It also took place in Chicago, and it was kinda funny how some Americans were depicted. But the storyline was well done. I also found out that there is a manga for it. Happily, for me, the anime was its own little thing and was only using the characters and some of the references, which means that I can read the manga without having anything spoiled. I know what’s next of my to-read list.
Reactions to RWBY Volume 5
Two weeks ago was the Volume 5 finale to RWBY. I am uploading this now to give people who do not have access to Rooster Teeth have an opportunity to watch on YouTube before having the possibility of spoilers. Thus, do not continue reading unless you are will to have something spoiled.
The Wall Between Us
As the new addition in the genre of “cute girls doing not so cute girl things,” there is Princess Principal. It’s a historical-ish drama taking place in what could be an alternate Berlin Wall situation taking place in England. The country has been torn apart into a monarchy and a commonwealth. There to make sure the country as a whole does not get overrun by those that what to ruin in are a group of young spies. They are all amazing, well written, and have great chemistry with one another. The story, for the most part, is told out of order, but one can get the gist and see how much they care about one another. It’s a great show that needs a sequel. I NEED to know what happens next. There was such a huge cliffhanger.
The Bottomless Pit
If there was a hole to the center of the world in your hometown, would you go into it? That is the story of cave raiders in Made in Abyss. Made in Abyss is a heartwarming show as you follow two cave raiders into the Abyss. One is a human, and the other is something from the Abyss. The two of them are really sweet together, and they meet a bunch of interesting people. Even though the manga hasn’t finished being written, I felt that it ended well. Other shows that finish before the manga ends usually have horrible endings that make no sense, but this one was still amazing. I really want to show in continue, but according to some people I have spoken to, the manga is nowhere close to a point where the anime can continue. It might take a while, but I’ll be here waiting to see what type of adventures our two protagonists go on next.
