Next up in rereading a couple of books, I’m reading the short novella that takes place after the fourth book (review linked here). It was an interesting read in two ways. First, I read a Christmas themed book in the middle of February. Second, was a completely useless side plot that introduced another love interest who wasn’t interesting at all, and I honestly found it extremely stupid. If it had stayed with the main plot, I would have been happy. Being that I have read the next book in the series, I totally get that that singular plot could not be made an entire book, but there was utter nonsense that I had to practically skip through. It was mind-numbingly stupid. All you really need to know is that Sam, our vampire mom protagonist, found another medallion, and the end.

Trading Happily Ever After
If you love it when common-place stories get reimagined, as much as I do, I think you can get behind Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi or Okami-San and Her Seven Companions. One of the things that I loved about this anime even though there was a heavy emphasis on fairytales such as Little Red Ridding which is the most prevalent, the script gets flipped in interesting ways each time. Add on the quirky anime tropes that we all know, love and cringe at, you get a very interesting story. I would just have liked it to be longer. I wanted to know much more about the protagonist and the overall outcome of the struggles that she went through. That, and I wanted more romance, but what can you do. Through some research, also known as going on the My Anime List page, there are also some novels and manga series to go along with it. I’m going to have to check those out.
Love out on the Ice
So, I finally got around to finishing this anime. It honestly took me longer than I would genuinely like to say, but I finished it. That show would be Yuri!!! on Ice. I think I should start by saying that I am not the biggest fan of figure skating. I recognize that a lot of skill goes into the sport, but it’s not that interesting to me. I suppose that would explain why the show really lagged for me. I really like the premise of the show, but it was just soooooo slow. It probably had a lot to do with having the exact same routine every single episode. There was nothing really different. Some of the thoughts during the skating routines were different, but not really. If you really like figure skating and really enjoy the competition scene, you might enjoy this a lot more than I did. I really enjoyed everything else about the anime, I just couldn’t get behind all the dancing. I’m sorry Panda.
My Childhood All Over Again
One of the shows that I would make sure to watch whenever it was on, was Full House. Now, I bet you can imagine how excited and skeptical that I was when said that they were going to reboot it into Fuller House. I’ll admit, I wasn’t so sure that the cheese of the original show and the heart-wrenching family moments would still be there, but let me tell you, it is on point. I don’t care if it is nostalgia getting to me, I’m having fun with this show. I recently finished the fourth season. It’s been an absolute trip with plot twists nearly everywhere. I wish I could tell you anything, but it feels like it will be spoilers. A bunch of my favorite characters came back and brought new adorable characters along for the ride. If you are able to, I would just set aside a weekend, probably a long one, and just finish the entire show in one go. I heard a rumor that there is only one more season left. I’m a bit mixed by this. The show is so good, and I want it to continue. On the other hand, I don’t want it to continue to the point where it’s stupid and a total waste of time. I’m sure that so many fandoms are worried about this, and I know that I have felt that way about shows that I loved before. I’m just crossing my fingers that it stays good. *knocking on wood*
Cursed Life
Another of one of the webcomics that I am reading is Fluffy Boyfriend by Mihi. I am writing this as of Episode 43, right as the author went on hiatus for a bit. And as sweet and fluffy that the title is thus far, there has been no romance in sight as of yet. In this comic, we follow Anna, a girl who has been cursed with not being able to touch anyone, and her half-human cat, Niko. Not only is Anna somehow able to touch Niko, but he introduces her to a whole new world of half animal-half human people. There are a lot of mysterious aspects of the story because Anna doesn’t remember her entire past or getting cursed, but Niko also seems not to be the most reliable story-teller. Where the story left off before the haitus, I felt like we were finally going to get some answers, and I can’t wait to get some answers. There are also some world-building that was taking place, but I still have some many questions. Either way, I’m really liking the way this story is taking place.
Class Black is Made of Killers
I’m being quite literal with that title. In the anime Akuma no Riddle or Riddle Story of Devil, the Black Class of the prestigious school is made of assassins. What is their mission? To kill this one girl in their class. That’s right. It’s up to twelve different assassins to kill this one girl in their class. But there is a catch. There always is one. And is pretty good, all things considered. It’s kinda episodic with an overarching plot. There are times when I want to bash my head into the table watching one of the protagonists. She’s kinda cringe-worthy at times, but we put up with in for the sake of the show. She’s kinda like Usagi from Sailor Moon in many ways, except for the fact that she has experienced way more things before the start of the show, but doesn’t act like it. Another thing to mention if you are planning on watching this racy anime (because it can be racy at times) is that you have to watch every single ending. All of the endings are different and are there to represent the different characters. It’s amazing how well the songs and visuals capture the essence of everyone. It does a good job of humanizing a lot of the characters as well considering the fact that you may not see yourself emphasizing with a killer. But this anime makes it possible.
