History can be Funny

Ever wanted to watch history, especially World War II, without feeling sad about it. I would suggest watching Hetalia. It is a really cute show, as in five minutes a piece, where history is told through the personified characters of each country. I would recommend watching this anime in the English dub because of the ability to hear the different characters accents. While this is a good show, I will admit that it gets a bit ridiculous and having nothing to do with history, but I did like the first two “subacts” so to say. And the narrator is so sassy. I love her. Definitely check it out if you like.

An Actual “Love” Story?

I have watched the entirely of Itazura Na Kiss for what has to be the fifth time. And I am still loving it. It is the stereotypical love story between an intellectually-challenged girl and an emotionally stunted boy. You know, the usual. Except in this one, you actually see them through their life, separate and together as this anime takes them through high school, college and their adult working life. It’s girly, but I very much enjoyed it, and maybe you will too.

January 2, 1017

It’s a new year yet again, and I personally hope that it ends up extremely better that 2016. Because let’s face it, 2016 was horrible for everyone involved. I, for one, lost a portion of my eyesight, as I have to wear an eye-patch so that I can have singular vision. I also have no depth perception now, so I run into things … a lot. Don’t ask me why. I was a klutz before all of this started. I’m not going to promise anything or make any “resolutions” because that’s not how life really goes. I will say that I will try to do things, but college is a thing. To me, education comes first so things I want to do will take a back burner to everything. But that is it for this Monday, and I hope that this year is a whole lot better for everyone.

High School Café Club

By reading the title of this post, you should be able to know what anime I’m about to talk about if you have ever heard about it. Yes, I didn’t read it first, but don’t worry, it is on my list to do so. If you have never heard of Ouran High School Host Club, you should because is is hilarious and somewhat heartwarming. And for those who don’t know what a host club is, the best way I can describe it is as a maid café for girls. If that is not correct, that is the best way that I can describe it based on what I say, but definitely, check this out. This anime does the best at making fun of some shoujo themes in a way that is not harsh, especially since all of the boys in this show personalities that run rampant in the same type of anime and manga. Having a protagonist that cares more for who people are explicitly on the inside is also refreshing.

Reimagined Fairy Tales

Recently, some friends of mine introduced me to a show called Rwby, pronounced Ruby, an Anime inspired show, and it is amazing. The best part: you can watch this series on YouTube  by the creators. I’m all caught up and I am still caught up in the feels on that final episode of the third volume. All of the characters are characters from our childhood but taking an amazing twist on it. And with the fourth volume coming out in October (not soon enough) I will be watching the chibi non-cannon version of this show. Yes, there is a Chibi verson, and it is amazing. Episodes of the Chibi version will come out every week until the new volume comes out (as far as I know), so that is how I am going to get my fix. Get yours, and watch this amazing series.

If you would like to get on this amazing series, click here to get on the action. Make sure you watch the trailers. They let you on to some clues to things that happen later on. Now, no more until info, for now, until volume 4 comes out. Then, I’m going to be all over that bad boy.

In about an hour, I will be leaving for college to do my second year. Even though I will be at college, I still want to contribute to this page as much as possible. Last year, I know I didn’t post as much as I would have liked to, but college is a huge hassle. But I want to make a promise to myself, and anyone that cares to read this, that I will do my best to geek out as much as possible, and am able in the process of completing my Chemistry degree. And I’m hoping to very soon start to do reactions to some of the shows that I like and am actually watching within a week of watching said show (like I promised a while ago if anyone remembers). I’ll also be binge watching shows, but won’t do a review on it until I’m at the end of what the show I’m binge watching is. I would also love to get recommendations on some things that I should watch or read. I always need more to geek out on.

Makes Me Almost Want to Cook

Very recently, I finished the manga Kitchen Princess by Natsumi Ando. I read all ten volumes in a time frame of way less than twenty-four hours. I was just captured into it. One of my friends, who doesn’t really like shojo, even recommended this for me, and this manga is just shojo-y. That probably isn’t a real thing, but let’s just go with it. I would recommend this to practically everyone, if they love shojo as much as I did. And yes, there is a much of talk about recipes, because the protagonist is an amazing cook. But the cool thing is that there are recipes for everything made at the end of each volume. I definitely want to try some of those. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. I would watch it, if only it was made into one.

Have any manga to recommend to me? Please tell me. I’m always looking for more. It even doesn’t have to be shojo. 😉

Skiing for Llamas

I know it has been a long time, but life happens. I’m sure everyone understands that to some extent. For the last day though, I have been completely addicted to the game Alto’s Adventure. The premise of it is that you are on an adventure in a snowy landscape while collecting llamas. It sounds silly, but the game is completely addicting in your attempt to get better scores and unlock new characters. Not only is the game simple to play, but animation style is simply beautiful with its simplistic style. Definitely a must get, but you might what to keep you phone on a charger while playing it.

Get the game on Android, iOS and Kindle Fire.
